Certified individuals are qualified to legally work as a certified lifeguard
Candidates will learn importance of lifeguarding principles, sound judgment and the responsibilities of this role
National Lifeguard (pool option) - can only be lifeguard at a pool
Expires in 2 years
Participants that cause a pool fouling resulting in a closure will be charged a $100 fee
Beginning January 2026, the Lifesaving Society requires all candidates to present valid government-issued photo identification at the time of course/examination. Click here for more information
Why do I need this certification?
To be employed as a lifeguard anywhere in Canada Will not need to re-certify your Bronze Cross
