2 Weekends
Pool Time:
24 hrs approx.
Classroom/Online:
16 hrs approx.
Total Instructional Hours:
40 hrs
Required Material
  • Alert: Lifeguarding in Action - 2020 edition: $58 +tax
  • CPR Pocket Mask with Gloves: $28.50 +tax
  • Fox-40 Whistle: $12.50+tax
Prerequisites:
  • Bronze Cross *can be an expired certification but highly recommend valid certification
  • Age 15yrs+
  • Standard First Aid & CPR-C (not the same as Emergency First Aid completed in Bronze Medallion)

Course Description

  • Nationally, and internationally recognized
  • Certified individuals are qualified to legally work as a certified lifeguard
  • Candidates will learn importance of lifeguarding principles, sound judgment and the responsibilities of this role
  • National Lifeguard (pool option) - can only be lifeguard at a pool
  • Expires in 2 years
  • Participants that cause a pool fouling resulting in a closure will be charged a $100 fee
  • Beginning January 2026, the Lifesaving Society requires all candidates to present valid government-issued photo identification at the time of course/examination. Click here for more information
Why do I need this certification?
  • To be employed as a lifeguard anywhere in Canada
    Will not need to re-certify your Bronze Cross

  • Wait for registration confirmation email & invoice from Jack of Sports
  • Send E-Transfer to Contactus@Jackofsports.com for total amount to secure your spot in the course
  • Receive receipt of payment
